Date: 12 to 20 June 2010
A special group of local women, including the well-known expert of Fibre Art, Marcia Hoipo, meet monthly to investigate and explore how fabric and fibres can be manipulated to create various items.
Bound together by a fascination with fibres, the members say "we always have fun" and meetings are punctuated by regular laughter.
They are, however, all very serious about the work they do whether it is traditional or more experimental. On occasions, tutors have been arranged to help provide more insight into a previously unexplored technique.
Also, members often attend workshops so they can pass on information back to the group.
A selection of work produced by the group will be on display, with selected items for sale for two weekends, 12/13/14th June and 19/20th June, from 10am till 4pm, at the Wollombi Cultural Centre (WCC).
