WOLLOMBI ART

An exhibition of aboriginal art by PETER WILLIAMS

Opening at the Wollombi Cultural Centre on Friday 11th September at 7pm. BYO

You will be treated to aboriginal dancing as well. Don't miss it!

This is Peter's 4th exhibition at the WCC and his works should be of great interest to Wollombi Valley residents as, for the first time, he has been given permission to paint some of the engravings and cave art of the Wollombi, using black and white acrilics on canvas.

Peter, a Ngemba man from the North West (Brewarrina area) of NSW, last exhibited at the WCC in 2005 and has been travelling this wide brown land since then, most recently based in Alice Springs. He is usually one of the lead dancers at the Wollombi Corroboree, inaugurated in 1991, as a "thank you" to the Wollombi community for their support of Aboriginal culture.

This exhibition will be open for two weekends, 10am to 4pm, from the 12th Sept. to Sunday 20th Sept.
